Kinshi is a great additive for isopod cultures, millipede cultures and is also used extensively in beetle keeping. It is a great alternative to the highly sought-after white rotten wood that is the gold standard for isopod and millipede nutrition. 🥇
Kinshi is a japanese term that literally means "filaments of the fungi." It is what remains of nutrient-rich mushroom growing media after the fruiting bodies of the mushrooms are harvested.
It is composed of two incredibly nutrient-rich parts:
- Broken-down mushroom media. Isopods, millipedes, and beetles love the nutrients in wood, but struggle to digest the cellulose and lignin. The mushroom growing process basically unlocks all those nutrients for your pets as the media is broken down. ✨
- Leftover mushroom mycelium. The mushrooms we eat are just the fruiting bodies. We basically eat the flowers of the fungi! Within the media is the body of the mushroom, or the mycelium. Kinshi is packed with strands of mycelium with your pets will go CRAZY for. 🤪
If you are looking to level up your critter-keeping game, kinshi is the perfect choice.
Each bag contains 100 grams of kinshi. Color may vary.
